Parenting to Support Recovery in Your Young Adult (Child)
Our relationship changes with our children once they turn 18. They're now legal adults. But as parents of children who struggle with mental health challenges or substance use issues, things aren't always cut and dry. You have reasons to worry more about their health and safety. They may still live with you, which can make things interesting. Join us to talk about the changes when your child becomes a legal adult, talk about hopes and fears of parents of struggling young adults and learn to focus on what you can control. We'll learn how to support a Mental Health Recovery Model, learn about positive parenting approaches to young adult children, and learn how to respond effectively to problem behaviors.
